01The studio
OVELUMI is an independent studio based in Switzerland. We design objects of light — simple, precise and lasting — where form, material and movement become one. We produce little, with attention, to create objects that remain.
02LUNA 01
A presence before a lamp.
Unlit, LUNA 01 holds the room through its silhouette alone: a stone, a sphere and a vertical line.
When switched on, the sphere awakens. Light leaves it, reaches the line and rises to its summit. In a few seconds, a still object becomes a gesture.
LUNA 01 is the first piece by OVELUMI. It is made in small numbered series, assembled and inspected individually.

Every LUNA 01 carries its own number. A discreet trace of its passage between material, studio and the place that receives it.
03Materials
Stone anchors.
Aluminium traces.
Glass reveals.
Three materials make LUNA 01. Each is chosen for its presence, its precision and the way it receives light.
Aluminium
Aluminium draws the line with precision. Its matte black finish erases the engineering and lets light alone appear.
Opaline glass
Satin and diffusing, opaline glass gathers light without exposing it. It turns the source into a soft volume, where the movement begins.
Natural variation
Stone and glass carry slight variations of tone, texture and pattern. They are not corrected to make pieces identical: they belong to their character.
Restrained finishes
Surfaces stay matte, tactile and low in reflection. Nothing seeks brilliance; everything seeks rightness.
04Principle
A single gesture of light.
LUNA 01 does not separate the sphere from the line. Light first appears in the glass, then rises gradually through the vertical body.
The movement lasts a few seconds. Slow enough to be perceived, discreet enough never to become an effect. Once the line is formed, the light remains: warm, stable and adjustable.
A discreet control adjusts its intensity and warmth without interrupting the presence of the object.

The sphere lights softly, as if the light came from inside the material.
Light leaves the sphere and moves to the summit in a continuous motion, with no visible point or break.
The movement ends. The line stays suspended in space, at the chosen intensity and warmth.
